Bowls England – Let’s Roll Campaign

At Bexhill Bowling Club, we  believe that bowls is centred around enjoyment.

It’s  an uncomplicated and accessible sport, which anyone of any age can play. It’s also both a real challenge to get those competitive juices flowing and a relaxing way of spending an hour or two, with players always enjoying the social side of the sport

We have been delighted with the response we have received to the much publicised Bowls England  “Let’s Roll” campaign. We  have been able to offer  free introductory sessions and amongst others have welcomed to the green, Councillor Brian Drayson,, Jenny, Linda and Barry who can be seen here in action.

Cllr Brian Drayson, Chair of Rother District Council  commented:

“Having spent two hours under the watchful eye of Club Coach Bob Budd I  recognise the mental and physical  health benefits of playing bowls.

It requires coordination, agility and strategy. You  need to refine your tactics, concentrate for long periods of time and maintain mental alertness.

I have have really enjoyed my time on the green and would encourage everyone to give this a try”.

Jenny Burton said.

“Never bowled before and have found it such good fun. Many thanks to Marion for her  help and expertise. Actually everyone I have spoken to has been friendly and helpful. Definitely looking forward to next years season after a couple of tasters this year”.

We are extremely grateful to Marion Boswell, Bob Budd  and a number of others for there invaluable assistance in providing these free taster sessions.

The outdoor season season is almost at an end, but we will once again  be supporting Bowls England as they make plans for  a national open weekend in May 2021.
